The group that started with Kong was okay but ho man, everytime those 3 appeared on screen to deliver plot on MechaGodzilla I just rolled my eyes in agony. They were irrelevant to the plot, literally everything that happened would still have happened if they weren't there, the only thing they did was "paralyze" MechaGodzilla for like 5 seconds which I still don't understand how if Apex was no longer in control before that. And they delivered so many on the nose lines with too much knowledge that they shouldn't have. It would have made way more sense for the Conspiracy guy (the only fun to watch character of the group) to already have bits of information prior to that, and after meeting with the kids the 3 of them puzzle everything together into "Apex is building their own Kaiju" without breaking into the facility, tried to deliver the information to the media but get arrested in the process, leading to the meeting with the shitty villain. Also, the villain could have been way better if instead of "Humanity is on top of the chain" he was given the line "Godzilla and other monsters have killed thousands of people, we need a way to counter them"...

Honestly I like the Kong characters. Aside from ones who obviously really have no purpose to developed, I could care less about the ones specifically all about godzilla like that whole "discovery trio" stuff like honestly the one guy could've done that, discovered it all alone and got it out there. The kong characters actually have something to bring to the table, especially the death girl.
